The above photos were takens along the way at a scenic lookout while riding through the Shenandoah National Forest in Virginia. What a ride! Lots of widing, twisting roads with steep elevations and 9% grades going down the mountain.
Ralph Luther, Phil Novack and I enjoying a Yuengling Draft before enjoying some wings at Hooters. Ralph went on the ride I took to the west coast a couple of years ago and it was great catching up with him and swapping old and new stories.
Bikes are all lined up for our ride with Old Dominion Chapter of SSMC (Silent Service Motorcycle Club). We had great weather, an outstanding ride lunch at the Fleet Reserve Association and didn't get wet until the end of the ride. A storm rolled in while we were visiting the local Harley Dealer and Phil and I got left behind. But, with our outstanding navigational skills, superior riding ability and a liberal dose of good luck we managed to get ahead of the pack before we got lost and they passed us while we were checking our map. A high speed chase on the freeway and we caught up with them in time to get our free lunch. Never let it be said that "boat sailors" can't improvise when the chips are down; especially when it comes to free food
